How To Make a Salted Caramel Iced Coffee
Summer or not, a Salted Caramel Iced Coffee is always a good idea. The inherent malty, nutty sweetness of caramel is amplified by a bit of salt, and stunningly balanced by the rich depth of our coffee and some smooth, creamy milk. It’s one of our go-to drinks of the summer (maybe just one behind an Aperol Spritz), and it’s super easy to make at home.
Salted Caramel Iced Coffee Ingredients
What You’ll Need:
- 2 Grind Caramel Coffee Pods (or, if you prefer to brew it yourself, 150ml of brewed coffee using our Ground or Whole Bean Coffee)
- Ice (would be extra cool if you used the Grind Ice Cube Tray)
- 200ml milk
- 1 tbsp caramel
- Sea salt
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Extra caramel, for serving (also optional, but encouraged)

Our quick and easy directions:
- Make a double shot of coffee using two Grind caramel coffee pods, or freshly brew 150ml of coffee with your favourite brewing tool (ours is a Cafetière). If you have time, leave it to cool.
- Fill a nice glass or cup (cute cups make drinks taste nicer, everyone knows that) with ice cubes. If you don’t want to dilute your coffee too much and want an extra caffeine boost, pre-fill your ice tray with brewed coffee.
- Stir 1 tbsp of caramel into your coffee—if you’re not using caramel flavoured coffee pods, then use 2 tbsp of caramel—and add a pinch of sea salt.
- Gently pour the coffee into the glass, on top of your ice cubes.
- Add around 150–200ml (or to taste) of cold milk to your glass, and give it a good stir. Add more ice if necessary.
- If you’re feeling a bit extra (and you should be), finish with a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel.
Vegan Salted Caramel Iced Coffee Recipe
This recipe can easily be made vegan-friendly by using plant-based milk instead of cow’s milk. For the same creamy, smooth, full-bodied texture, we’d recommend using barista oat milk.
How Many Calories Are in a Salted Caramel Iced Coffee?
The calories in your salted caramel iced coffee will vary depending on what kind of milk and which caramel sauce you use. A standard salted caramel iced coffee will have around 200 calories, but toppings like whipped cream or more caramel syrup will increase this to around 250-300 calories. If you’re looking for a lower calorie option, try using sugar-free caramel syrup or skimmed milk. Alternatively, our ready-to-drink iced caramel latte coffee can is naturally sweetened and contains only 110 calories.
Ready to Make Your Own Salted Caramel Iced Coffee?
Obviously, a great salted caramel iced coffee needs great coffee. Choose from our range of speciality-grade coffee in Nespresso® compatible, home-compostable coffee pods or, if you prefer to brew at home, as whole bean and ground.
If you’re doing this in front of a crowd, we’d recommend adding a swirl of caramel syrup to your glass before assembling your drink for some dramatic effect. You could also cold brew your coffee overnight with our Cold Brew Bottle, which gives your coffee a smoother taste and retains more of its natural aromas and flavours. It’s more time consuming, but it’s worth it.
Short on time? We get it—you’re busy. That’s why we have our ready-to-drink Iced Caramel Latte Can, featuring our signature House Blend, slow-steeped in cold water. You can shop the full iced coffee range here.
