How to Make a Caramel Iced Coffee

Creamy, refreshing, sweet, smooth... there's a reason caramel takes centre stage in the world of flavoured coffee. The combination of the malty sweetness of caramel with the naturally rich, deep flavours of arabica coffee is pretty unbeatable. So, here’s our recipe for creating the caramel iced coffee of your dreams—assuming that you, too, dream of caramel iced coffees.

BUT, you should know that if you want a shortcut, there’s one here

Caramel Iced Coffee Ingredients

What You’ll Need

Caramel Iced Coffee Recipe

  1. Fill your glass with ice cubes. If you don’t want to dilute your coffee too much and want an extra caffeine boost, pre-fill your ice tray with brewed coffee.
  2. In a separate glass or mug, make a double shot of coffee using your Grind coffee pods in your favourite blend, or brew 150ml of ground coffee
  3. TIP: If you really, really like caramel, then you can use our Caramel Coffee Pods, which combine our signature House Blend with natural caramel flavouring for a subtle malty sweetness. Double down on the caramel.
  4. Gently pour the espresso into the glass, on top of your ice cubes.
  5. Add around 150ml (or to taste) of cold milk to your glass.
  6. Add 2-3 tbsp of caramel sauce or 25ml caramel syrup into your coffee and give it a good stir. Add more ice if necessary.
  7. If you’re feeling a bit extra (and you should be), finish with a good dollop of whipped cream.

How Many Calories in a Caramel Iced Coffee?

The calories in your caramel iced coffee will vary depending on what kind of milk and which caramel sauce you use. A standard iced caramel coffee will have around 200 calories, but toppings like whipped cream or more caramel syrup will increase this to around 250-300 calories. If you’re looking for a lower calorie option, try using sugar-free caramel syrup or skimmed milk. Alternatively, our ready-to-drink iced caramel latte coffee can is naturally sweetened and contains only 110 calories.

Ready to Make Your Caramel Iced Coffee?

If you’re doing this in front of a crowd, we’d recommend adding a swirl of caramel syrup to your glass before assembling your drink for some dramatic effect. You could also cold brew your coffee overnight with our Cold Brew Bottle,  which gives your coffee a smoother taste and retains more of its natural aromas and flavours. It’s more time consuming, but it’s worth it.

Obviously, a great caramel iced coffee needs great coffee. Choose from our range of speciality-grade coffee in Nespresso® compatible, home-compostable coffee pods or, if you prefer to brew at home, as whole bean and ground
